Each week, I’ll present a different resource that will help you in your endeavors to teach your preschooler at home as cheaply as possible, or even better – FREE! Or, I’ll introduce you to another great website to assist you in living an abundant life on a not-so-abundant budget. So, without further ado, here’s this week’s fine pick!
AllTheDaze.com
A resource to homeschool preschool for FREE? Maybe.
A couple of years ago, a good friend of mine told me about this website where she got ideas for teaching her preschooler at home - - http://www.allthedaze.com/. It was the first site I had been introduced to when I first began homeschool-preschool with Laynie, and I just loved the ideas presented through the weekly emails.
I’ve come to learn that this lady who writes the content, Marcia Arpin, is amazing, and she consistently sends useful and timely information through her email subscription service. Her emails can be used as a weekly idea-starter for fun and frugal (and mostly educational) activities to do with your preschooler. The ideas sent in the emails are completely free, so I would encourage you to sign up for them. Her ebooks are also fairly affordable, but I’ve never actually tried them myself, so I can’t offer you a full review.
I’d dare say you could practically use her ideas as your nearly-complete preschool curriculum for your children. Use her weekly emails as a starting point, and go all out with the wonderful and easy theme ideas. But I’d be sure to include just a few extra math/numbers and letters/reading/phonics work added in to your weekly routine. It has been pretty easy for me over the years with Laynie to find Reading and Math ideas with which to supplement Marcia’s ideas. All I did was a quick internet search each week, and there’s tons of free ideas out there. Marcia’s ideas seem more on the fluff-artsy-crafty side of preschool, and they’re definitely lots of fun, but if you’re not aware, they just barely touch on the more important learning objectives.
Thanks to a reader, Jane, who reminded me of this resource. Do you have a great suggestion for a preschool resource or a frugal-living website? Please email me and let me know!
